Arizona Summit Law School Drags Down Bar Passage Rate on Arizona State Bar Exam for February 2016

Garbage Law School Produces Garbage Results: On May 20, 2016, Staci Zaretsky posted an ATL entry labeled “Law School Completely Derails State’s Bar Exam Passage Rate.” Check out this opening:

“Earlier this week, we brought you news about the February 2016 administration of the Arizona bar exam. At about 49 percent, the pass rate for the exam was horrendous; in fact, it was the worst Arizona had seen for more than 10 years (and possibly even longer).

Today, we have the school-by-school breakdown of the February 2016 passage rates in Arizona, and as everyone suspected, one law school’s incredibly subpar results dragged down the state’s entire pass rate, much like what we saw in the results of the July 2015 administration of the exam.

To be frank, it’s amazing how much damage one law school can do to the results of an entire state’s bar exam passage rate. Take a look at this breakdown of results by in-state law schools, courtesy of the State of Arizona Committee on Examinations:

[February 2016 Examination Results

Pass Rates for First Time Writers

ASU - 81.6%
U of A - 71.1%
Arizona Summit - 38.1%
All ABA - 61.2%]

Arizona Summit is a law school that pleaded with its low-performing graduates to defer taking the July 2015 bar exam and wait until February 2016 to sit for the test. Arizona Summit is a law school that offered $5,000 stipends to all graduates who waited to take the exam and instead enrolled in their “Unlock Potential” program, a bar prep program that would “extend [their] bar preparation from the usual 10-week program to more of a four-month program.” Arizona Summit is a law school whose dean called graduates the day before the July 2015 exam and begged them to accept $10,000 deferral stipends instead of sitting for the bar exam the next day. With an overall pass rate of 28.4 percent, Arizona Summit is a law school whose teaching methods are clearly not working.” [Emphasis mine]

Yes, what a prestigious “institution of higher learning,” huh?!?! Hell, why didn’t the rodents add in a free two year subscription to Netflix, in order to entice their dumbass students to refrain from taking the state bar exam? Better yet, the pigs should have officially disavowed these graduates. Perhaps a statement from the dean to the effect of “We tried to convince these morons not to take the bar exam. In fact, we offered them cash and other incentives. It’s not as though these boys and girls have legal jobs lined up or anything. As such, we wash our hands of this group.”

Tuition: As you can see, full-time tuition at this ABA-accredited trash heap amounts to $43,966 – for the 2015-2016 school year. In good news, part-time tuition is only $35,556. That sure is one hell of a bargain for the students!

Estimated Total Cost of Attendance: According to this same page, the commode lists all other expenses as adding up to $22,110. By the swines’ own figures, the total COA will reach $66,066 for full-time law students at Arizona $ummiTTTT.

Since ABA-approved diploma mills base their estimates regarding living expenses on a nine-month academic calendar, we will need to prorate the following items: housing and meals, as well as transportation. Doing so, we reach a more accurate total COA of $70,943 – for a full-time law student attending this dung pit for the 2015-2016 school year. Who wouldn’t want to enroll at this “professional school”?!?!

Ranking: Based on these prohibitive costs of admission, this school must have a stellar reputation in the academic and legal communities! Hold on for a second. Somehow, US “News” & World Report has listed Arizona $ummiTTTT Law Sewer as a fourth tier trash can. Bob Morse changed this category as “Rank Not Published,” several years ago. The fact remains that this toilet is fourth tier.

Employment “Placement” Statistics: These figures are beyond pathetic. There were 334 members of the Arizona $ummiTTTT JD Class of 2015. Of that massive number, a total of 143 were employed in positions “requiring bar passage.” Then again, seeing the putrid pass rates from this commode, the pigs have an excuse. For $ome rea$on, the cockroaches were not that selective in the admi$$ion$ process. The federal student money has long since been collected – and cashed!

Conclusion: In the final analysis, Arizona $ummiTTTT Law $chool is a bottom-feeding cesspool that WILLINGLY admits applicants who have minimal chances to pass the bar exam – and it charges them outrageous sums in tuition. Furthermore, due to the sewage pit’s ranking, its graduates will be lucky to find toiletlaw positions upon earning their TTTT law degrees. No decent law firm seeks out graduates of FOURTH TIER law schools! In this specific case, we are dealing with a for profit dung heap owned by Infilaw. Can you picture hiring partners saying to themselves “We really need to branch out more.  I have an idea. Let’s hire someone from Arizona Summit! The clients will love seeing that we’re willing to take risks.”  If you cannot imagine that foolish scenario, then why even consider applying to this rancid pile of excrement?

  1. How is this Arizona Summit's actions, actions which are so harmful to individuals and society, not only permitted, but encouraged and subsidized?

    1. Because "highest ed" or the terminal degree area of college is seen as the area where the wheat has finally been separated from the chaff and academic adulthood really begins. Obviously that isn't the reality of law school as it exists now (or has existed since the early 1990s), but to the general population and people in government who have never been lawyers, producing more lawyers in America seems like a good idea. However, the wheels are beginning to come off undergraduate education (the loans are a disaster, the state schools are going on pointless building sprees to use up the excess cash they are floating on, even with a diploma the economy sucks) which means that the law schools will begin to lose even more suckers as the mass of higher education either gets its house in order or falls apart. We have not really yet seen the apocalypse with higher ed.

  2. Meanwhile, the sound of crickets chirping over at the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar...

  3. Arizona Scum-Pit is a fucking disgrace. It's no surprise that a skule whose median LSAT score (143) is at the 20th percentile turns out people who can't pass the bar exam to save their lives.

If the bar were competently administered (hello, ABA), Arizona Scum-Pit would have to close its doors. So would three-quarters of the law skules.

  4. Stonemason, Esq.May 24, 2016 at 1:52 PM

With an overall pass rate of 28.4 percent, Arizona Summit is a law school whose teaching methods are clearly not working.

Right. In more honest words, Arizona Summit is a school which takes in morons, sucks up their yummy federal loan dollars, and then sends them out to get slaughtered in a bar exam. You can't demoron a moron by having a pampered professor prattle on about the Rule Against Perpetuities.

  5. In the peer recognition portion of US News rankings, Arizona Summit is in a four way tie for 195th (last). http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2015/03/2016-us-news-peer-reputation-.html

  6. This information is available to all-so why does anyone ever attend this TTTT?

    1. Essentially, this is the plague which afflicts the Liberal Artist. Naive kids with such useless undergrad backgrounds as PoiSci and Sociology cannot help themselves; they are convinced they can be "cured" by, essentially, three more years of liberal artistry which will turn them into "professionals". The kids think law school is like other professional schools, ie., it doesn't matter where you go, but law, being a prestige-whoring profession, says otherwise.

Civilians, i.e, non-lawyers, think lol school is vocational, like real professional schools are. As we all painfully know, it's not. They teach nothing of practical value in law school; all that is needed for the bar is available in a review course. Sadly, these kids are dooming themselves to three years of, hide-the-ball by egotistical, overpaid, underworked law "professors".

    2. Amen 9:51. Law schools have long been plagued by swarms of hapless liberal artists incapable of any other course in life. Even the T14 is rife with such sad characters.

  7. Which law school is a bigger piece of shit, Arizona Summit or Pace?

  8. Team AAMPLE:

This is so wrong on so many levels. At least our HBCU's have standards.... Sheesh.

What ever happened to Law Schools that taught specifically for students to pass the bar. And doubling, even tripling down on BAR/BRI???

    1. 2:33-what? You call yourself Team AAMPLE-doofus, Arizona Summit is an AAMPLE school. You're the #1 apologist for them-so why is this "wrong"?
Maybe you need to see a lawyer and get a name change...as again, HBCU law schools have ZERO to do with AAMPLE.

Arizona Summitt, Marshal, Valpo, Florida Costal make sense for many people. Your name is Liam and you were born in 1993. You graduated with a 2.43 in Psychology from Central Baptist Torah Tech. You are into your second year sitting in a cube earning 29K taking orders for Diabetes supplies and motorized scooters. The drudgery and monotony is killing you. The guy who owns the small suburban office is a 68 year old lawyer!!!! So, you go online and up pops 100 or so law schools with relaxed admission standards...open actually. The old lawyer tells you that he has had a fabulous career and regales you with stories and good fees. He tells you that you are a Minister of Justice and will be respected in the community. Liam gets a hard on because he thinks about that new 40K Colorado and new Harley. He takes the LSAT and scores a 126. He is immediately accepted to Marshall, Arizona Summitt, Thomas Jefferson and Valpo wait lists him. In three weeks, they accept him too. Even if Liam can't get a law gig, he will be a Solo. The School and old lawyer told him about endless possibilities and that you can "do anything" with your law degree. In the end, he is a LAWYER!!!!! CLASS BABY!!!!!!!

  10. Arizona Summit is so shitty I'm wondering if Univershitty of Phoenix asked them to change their name from what it was so people didn't confuse the shitholes.

  11. So what I graduated with a 2.6 BA from community college. I also scored below 150 on the LSAT. I will persevere and aim high and make something of myself!

Law school will give me the career makeover and help me regain traction to a decent salary, prestige, and above average legal knowledge.

You guys should not be so jealous. T4 here I come!

Let’s take a look at Fourth Tier Trash Pit Arizona Summit Law Sewer’s admi$$ion$ page:

Arizona Summit Law School’s mission is to establish the benchmark of inclusive excellence in professional education for the 21st Century. As a testament to our mission, The National Jurist recently named Arizona Summit Law School one of the nation’s most diverse law schools. We have created an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds and life experiences. That also includes creating opportunities for people outside the traditional scope of LSAT scores and undergraduate GPAs. We believe the potential for success is about more than numbers. You are more than your scores.

Our primary responsibility is to enable you to become a successful professional. This responsibility includes equipping you with the tools and competencies essential for effective lawyering. At Arizona Summit Law School, we provide a rigorous and challenging practice-readying experience that develops your intellect and prepares you for a career in law or a related field. We welcome you to the Arizona Summit Law School community and invite you to explore why Arizona Summit Law School is the right choice to prepare you for your future.”

Who gives a damn if your commode features a diverse student body? Remember the bar passage rates and employment “placement” figures for this cesspool. Do you want to be an unconnected racial minority who is strapped down with sickening amounts of NON-DISCHARGEABLE debt?!?! That serves no purpose, other than to ensure that the law school pigs at this dump live fat and happy – off YOUR carcass.

Did anyone else laugh when they read the sentence about this dung pile’s “primary responsibility” of enabling their students to become successful professional? This private trash can is owned by InfiLaw, i.e. it exists to make sure that the owners makes fistfuls of cash. They could care less about YOUR employment prospects! Did that penetrate your little brain, lemming?!

  13. “We tried to convince these morons not to take the bar exam. In fact, we offered them cash and other incentives. It’s not as though these boys and girls have legal jobs lined up or anything. As such, we wash our hands of this group.”

I think law schools should be able to do wash their hands of their stupider grads. They should even be allowed to cancel their J.D. if they are so inclined.
Except if they do so, they should have to refund their tuition in full.

  14. Diversity is a serious concept. It's too bad a Diploma Mill exploits it for profit. Spike Lee, is a gifted screen writer and Director. He illustrated this theme of "expoiting" diversity with a fast food chicken joint peddling a "Gospel Pack."

  15. The 2014 edition of Princeton Review's "The Best 169 Law Schools" features Arizona Summit Law School as top ten "Most Chosen by Older Students".

    1. Captain Hruska Carswell, Continuance KingMay 27, 2016 at 3:21 PM

Yes, at one time schools like Marshall-Chicago catered to "older" students or non-traditional students. Typically coppers, accountants, real estate agents, folks with second careers. They had somewhat open enrollment. However, to graduate, there were standards. You had to bust your ass. It was known as a "flunk out" school. You needed to prove you were lawyer material. It appears that Arizona Summitt "socially promotes" its older students as long as it can grab the money. Like milking a file. At least Marsahll, back in the day, had decent Bar Pass rates. This Sheriff Arpio Arizona Junk heap does not.

  16. It was Phoenix Law. Then they realized the school's reputation was shit. So they renamed it Arizona Summit. What will it be next? Barry Goldwater College of Law maybe.

    1. "What do you do...?"
      "...You give another name."
"'cause your real name ain't no good."

Arizona Summit and Infini Law Private Equity group, sue me. I give this blog's owner permission to hand over my URL, Name, address and phone number. Email too. I will accept service by mail, postage pre-paid, of course. If you are really nice, I will accept service by e-mail. Save costs for your share holders. I am demanding trial. A speedy trial. I am answering "ready" as soon as I file my appearance, pro se. Just remember VENUE is proper where the defendant resides. (I will define venue for you...that's minimum contacts, not a concert or the laminated cardboard one reads before ordering a meal at Red Lobster.)

  18. Check out the Law School Numbers profile for this pile of waste:

    "Phoenix School of Law

The Phoenix School of Law is a private law school located in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix Law is the only law school in Arizona with both a part-time evening program and full-time program. The school's faculty includes former and sitting Arizona Superior Court judges. The school boasts a "student-centered" curriculum that both "serves the underserved" and produces "practice-ready" attorneys. The school is provisionally accredited by the American Bar Association. Phoenix Law School is operated by the for-profit InfiLaw Corporation."

What a putrid load of excrement. Hell, MANY of your TTTT graduates will end up among "the underserved." Also, how can you produce "practice ready attorneys" when a large fraction of your JDs can't pass the bar exam? How many decent law firms want to hire Arizona $ummiTTTT grads?

    "Phoenix School of Law Admissions

Phoenix School of Law is considered a Somewhat Competitive law school, which accepts only 74% of its applicants. Comparatively, Phoenix is Higher than the average cost for law school."

What a selective "institution of higher learning"! Street walkers turn down a larger pool of potential customers.

    "Phoenix School of Law Employment

Deciding to attend law school requires a large financial investment with the goal of securing employment upon graduation. The Phoenix School of Law class of 2014 had an employment rate of 91% with 2% pursuing an additional degree."

This dung heap also features a 28.8 percent attrition rate. Yes, what a "prestigious" school, huh?!?! Sadly, waterheads will continue to enroll in this dump.

  19. This post shows how perfect the Law School Scam is. In any sane world, in light of these numbers, the loan $$$ would be immediately cut-off, and the ABA would have suspended the school's accreditation.
But we're talking about the perfect scam, so neither has occurred or will occur. This place ought to be out of business; instead, it will reap millions in loan dollars in the coming months. And that's your tax dollars at work. So until the politicians act and cut off the loans(don't hold your breath), all these TTTTs will continue to exist.

  20. Don't several dozen of these Summit students transfer to ASU each year? Even if they are the best students at Summit, I can't imagine they pass the bar at the same rate as ASU's 1L admits. I'd be interested to know whether ASU's bar passage rate has been affected as a result.

    Re: Apology

Arizona Summit was voted one of the best places to work in Arizona according to it's website. It beat out Sheriff Arpaio's Office and Unpainted Arizona. I am impressed.
